Security firm AVG Technologies has released a free smartphone app that blocks WiFi location tracking, even borrowing the "Do Not Track" movement label to name the "DNT" feature it's adding to its PrivacyFix app for Android. Read Original Content

The average smartphone user has 26 apps installed. Recent research conducted by HP indicates 97 percent of the apps contained some sort of privacy issue. The research also found 86 percent of the apps lack basic security defenses, and 75 percent fail to properly encrypt data. Read Original Content
